Darling Downs Textile Art Group is a collegiate of textile artists from across South East Queensland. Members are bound together by their love of and interest in textiles as a medium for creativity and personal artistic expression.

Over the years, the membership of this ‘not for profit group’ has grown and expanded, now incorporating members from an area north to Kingaroy, west to Miles, east to Brisbane and Ipswich and to Warwick in the south.

The group takes an active role in the Southern Queensland and Darling Downs’ communities, regularly staging both group and individual exhibitions. Members are actively involved in all facets of textile art, freely sharing their experiences with the broader community through various public events, exhibitions or staged presentations.

Artists’ backgrounds, histories and practices demonstrate skills, techniques, knowledge and approaches across the whole spectrum of the textile medium. Each is driven by a desire to grow and evolve her own art practice.

Darling Downs Textile Art Group provides a supportive and cooperative environment that nurtures the spirit and soul of each member in her endeavour as artists; both for reflection and the engagement with textiles for the expression of that reflection. Artist’s works continue to be accepted and included in local, interstate and international exhibitions.
